Volunteers are always welcome at KFBRP
There are many ways for you to get directly involved and hands-on with helping to save the forest birds of Kauai. We have opportunities for everyone from home crafters to experienced outdoor enthusiasts.
For those with sharp eyes:
For the quiet crafter:
Sew bird bags to be used to hold captured birds while they wait to be banded. Create at your own pace in your own home. Fabric provided. Or help us mend rain pants...we go through them quickly!
For the rugged outdoors person:
On Kaua'i and looking for a challenging volunteer position? We are looking for volunteers to help install nest boxes at our Mohihi site the last week in January. We are also looking for folks who can help us monitor nest boxes on a semi-regular basis (i.e. once a month to once a week) between Feb and June at our Kawaikoi site.
If interested, e-mail Barbara (bheindl AT hawaii.edu) with a brief description of how you would like to get involved. Tell us about your background so we can match you to the perfect volunteer position. This is your opportunity to get hands-on with KFBRP.
